I have always had a camera in hand as long as I can remember. I began Central Coast Pictures in 2006 as a simple website to share my images of my home and the place I love more than anywhere in the World. It has evolved into thriving Photography and Fine Art business that I wouldn’t trade for anything! I love what I get to do each day! My passion for photography is fueled by the landscapes and awe-inspiring natural features here on the Central Coast. The Central Coast has been my home my entire life, and not a day goes by I don’t look around in amazement at the beauty of this area. I am largely self-taught, apart from a few one-on-one lessons from photographers I admire, some online classes/tutorials, and a workshop here and there. While thriving on a thirst for knowledge and studying photography techniques and skills, there is still no substitute for practice, and getting out there and shooting, which I try to do daily. Get getting out there and doing it is the best teacher. ‘Never stop learning’ is a phrase that resonates with me daily as my photography evolves and transforms. I love to share what I see with the outside world through my website and Social Media, allowing viewers to follow me on my adventures and sometimes see the things they cannot, maybe because they have moved away from this area, are tied down from commitments such as work/family, or maybe homebound due to illness or injury. I feel blessed to share my work with the world. My work is publicly and permanently displayed in many local establishments, such as the Cliff's Resort in Shell Beach, Avila Beach San Luis Bay Inn, Sea Venture Resort & Restaurant, Fin's Seafood Restaurant, Kennedy Club Fitness, Give Fitness, Coast Hills FCU, SESLOC, Santa Maria Airport, CHC, The Pismo Beach Hotel, Creekside Dental Care, Surgical Specialists, LabCorp, California Retina Consultants, Inn At Rose's Landing, Agrarian Hotel, Educational Employees Credit Union in Paso Robles to name a few! My work has also been published in magazines, books, and on various forms of digital media. The San Luis Obispo Children's Museum first opened its doors in 1990 after the property was donated to the City of San Luis Obispo and the building converted from a transmission shop. The Children's Museum’s first incarnation lasted 14 years but the building had many structural and logistical problems, and the facility often reached capacity on busy days. From 2005-2008 the Museum was closed for reconstruction and over $5 million was raised to create a world class facility. The Museum reopened the second and third floors in June 2008. In June of 2009, the first floor was reopened and the Museum was officially completed. Close to 50,000 guests now visit the San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum each year, many on class field trips. The Museum is fortunate to have many community partners such as the Community Foundation San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly. The Children's Museum is a 501(c)(3) California non-profit organization and is led by a volunteer board of directors. It is a goal of the board for the Museum to be accessible to as many children as possible, and a resource for other community organizations. [read more]
